I laugh as I write this because I was thinking about a little observation yesterday after I went to the supermarket. An old lady was going into the same building as I was, so I held open the door: that is how I was raised.
Men these days don’t seem to put much stock in things such as chivalry and as a result, women have put that aside as an attainable quality in a partner. Truth be told, I’m one of those women that felt the same way. It’s a quality that’s long since fallen to the wayside, something that should be an inherent part of how men interact with women.
So folks, I’m on vacation in Tokyo. You’ve read my Tokyo Shorts series, right? Those only get written while I am physically here in the country so well and true, this place really helps me pump out some shorts. I love and miss this feeling, the intensity of the story beating at my brain and demanding to be written, the mundane daily encounters becoming the source of a new tale.
